Glassman, Wyatt, Tuttle & Cox, PC Shareholders Todd Murrah and Ed Wallis recently attended the regular monthly meeting of the Associated General Contractors of Tennessee. Both Todd Murrah and Ed Wallis handle construction litigation and concrete law matters in their practice and are proud to represent the Firm at the AGC Meeting.
This month’s AGC meeting featured a speaker from the Tennessee Department of Transportation West Tennessee Region 4 and highlighted current and future road projects throughout the Region. Jason Baker with TDOT also provided an overview of TDOT, showed several YouTube videos on TDOT and announced TDOT is 100 years old this year. TDOT is a “pay as you go” system so there is full funding available for each project as it is announced for letting to the public.
In Region 4 only, TDOT handles and oversees:
- 966 lane miles of interstate
- 7,957 lane miles of state roads
- 319 lane miles of park roads
- 6,000 bridges (which are inspected at least every 24 months)
The presentation showcased TDOT’s organizational structure and highlighted future (and needed) road projects throughout the Memphis area.
