Glassman, Wyatt, Tuttle & Cox, P.C. is proud to have been one of the co-presenting sponsors for the First Inaugural Dinner Fundraiser at Napa Café to raise needed funds for Memphis Area Legal Services (MALS). Firm attorney Lauran Glassman Stimac worked with a group of others to put together this dinner, which was co-sponsored by the Firm and Napa Café. The event was a sell out and held on August 31, 2015 at Napa Café.
Memphis Area Legal Services, Inc. is the primary provider of civil legal representation to low income families in Shelby, Fayette, Tipton and Lauderdale counties in West Tennessee. MALS helps individuals and families facing critical, sometimes life-threatening, situations such as:
Domestic violence
Mortgage foreclosure, eviction or homelessness
Wrongful denial of health care, food stamps, unemployment compensation and other assistance
Consumer fraud or predatory lending
Special challenges of children and the elderly
MALS does not accept fees for its services and does not handle criminal cases, class action lawsuits or fee generating cases such as personal injury or worker’s compensation, among others.
The event was a success in raising both funds and awareness for MALS.
