Glassman, Wyatt, Tuttle & Cox, P.C. recently announced that seven of its attorneys have been selected for inclusion in the 2019 Mid-South Super Lawyers Listing.  Three of the firm’s members were selected as members of the Super Lawyers List, which is limited to no more than five percent of all licensed attorneys in the Mid-South. Four additional firm members were honored as a Super Lawyers Rising Star. Inclusion as a Super Lawyers Rising Star is limited to 2.5 percent of all Mid-South attorneys in practice 10 years or less or aged 40 or under.

Senior Shareholder Richard Glassman was included in the List for Super Lawyers for the 13^th straight year in the fields of Professional Liability Defense and Professional Malpractice Plaintiff.  He was also recognized as one of the Top 100 Attorneys in Tennessee in this year’s listing. Glassman has consistently earned honors among his peers as one of the region’s finest trial lawyers, having tried more than 250 jury trials across the southeast.  He has achieved a multitude of accomplishments over his career spanning more than four decades, including being AV-rated, a Board Certified Pretrial and Trial Specialist and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and a 2014 Memphis Magazine Top Lawyers of the Mid-South, as chosen by other attorneys. Glassman is also a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America (a by-invitation association of less than 1/2 of 1% of lawyers in the United States to promote superior advocacy and ethical standards) and was selected as a Fellow in the Tennessee Bar Foundation. Richard previously served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Memphis School of Law where he taught a course on Insurance Law.

Shareholder Robert Cox was included for the first time as a Super Lawyer in 2019 for Civil Litigation. Cox regularly handles some of the firm’s largest matters, including complex transportation litigation, business litigation and contract review, serious personal injury and premises liability litigation, nursing home litigation, professional malpractice, and more.  Robert is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell, the highest professional rating that can be achieved through peer ratings and reviews.  He is also rated by Best Lawyer’s in America. Cox is licensed to practice law in Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi. He is actively involved in the Themis Advocates Group.

Shareholder Ed Wallis was included in the List for Super Lawyers for the eighth straight year in the fields of General Litigation, Business Litigation, Construction Litigation, Professional Liability Defense, and Product Personal Injury Defense. Wallis is also an AV-rated attorney and he has assisted more than twenty clients in being awarded One Million Dollars or more in settlements or trial verdicts throughout his career. He has likewise defended a number of clients that have been sued for millions of dollars and achieved successful resolutions including via arguments before the Sixth Circuit and Eighth Circuit Courts of Appeals and State and Federal Courts across the country. Ed frequently is called on to assist the firm’s business and corporate related clients in business litigation in state and federal courts. He is actively involved in the natiowide group of attorneys, the Themis Advocates Group.

Firm Associate Lewis Lyons was included for the eighth straight year as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for General Litigation, Transportation Litigation, and Professional Liability Defense. Lyons regularly presents to lawyers in Tennessee on litigation tactics and tips. He is AV-rated and is a former law clerk to a Shelby County Circuit Judge. Lyons is a member of the Transportation Lawyers Association and represented a trucking company as lead counsel in a declaratory judgment/breach of contract case on an indemnity issue where he secured dismissal of the case at the trial level and successfully defended the case on appeal for his client.

Firm Associate Ronna Kinsella was included for the fifth straight year as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for Transportation Litigation, Business Litigation, Professional Liability Defense, General Litigation, and Personal Injury Plaintiff.  Kinsella is licensed in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas and routinely helps the firm with complex litigation involving products liability, transportation and more.  She has successfully represented clients at both the state and appellate level throughout Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee in both state and federal courts.  She is a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI) where she currently serves as the Chair of the DRI Professional Liability Publications Committee and recently contributed the 8^th chapter to the DRI’s recently published book, “The Trial Compendium.”

Firm Associate Lauran Stimac was selected for the first year as a Mid South Super Lawyers Rising Star in the Fields of Professional Liability Defense and Personal Injury, Plaintiff’s Medical Malpractice. Lauran Stimac has participated in a wide variety of medical litigation matters involving patient falls, medication errors, cardiac care, emergency medicine, laparoscopic surgery, anesthesia care, gynecological surgery, and birth injuries.  She has also defended attorneys in legal malpractice matters and Board of Professional Responsibility matters involving assorted underlying cases. Stimac is licensed to practice law in Tennessee, Mississippi and Virginia. She is extensively involved in numerous charitable and professional organizations in the Mid South.

Firm Associate Jonathan Stokes joins the Super Lawyers Rising Star List for the third time in the fields of Professional Liability Defense, Business Litigation, and General Litigation. Stokes enjoys a diverse litigation practice, with special emphasis on legal malpractice, business disputes, corporate debt restructuring, and personal injury. Stokes takes particular interest in defending attorneys across the State of Tennessee accused of legal malpractice arising out of multiple underlying areas of law, as well as representing companies and their shareholders in pursuing and defending all types of legal claims.  He is a former member of the Leo Bearman Inn of Courts and received his law degree from the University of Memphis Cecil C.
